Pearl loved God’s word and was a gifted Bible teacher. Her passion was to inspire others to study, obey, and treasure the scriptures as she did. Pearl was also a learned woman and wise in the word. She graduated from UC Berkeley and also studied at North Park Seminary, Gordon-Conwell Seminary, L’Abri Fellowship in Switzerland, and Ligonier Ministries. Pearl wrote lessons and taught weekly classes for five years before succumbing to acute leukemia on March 12, 1993. At that time, there were more that 150 Disciplers classes scattered throughout the United States and Europe. After Pearl’s death, Disciplers continued to grow and was registered as a non-profit organization with Mary Lou Damon as director. Suzie Klein took up the mantle of teaching the original Disciplers class at Rolling Hills Covenant Church and later began writing additional study lessons. Tamra Tomlin has been with Disciplers since the beginning as a faithful discussion leader and editor of lessons. She continues to serve as our prayer chairman. In 2004, Harle Damon joined Suzie in writing study lessons.
Today, Disciplers Bible Studies are being used throughout the world, a testimony to Pearl’s service and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. The original Disciplers class at Rolling Hills Covenant Church continues under the leadership of Lynda MacDonald, pastor’s wife. The organization is in the process of going digital to make the Disciplers Bible Studies more accessible than ever before. The Disciplers website was named in honor of Barry Klein who was a faithful advocate and teacher with Disciplers for many years until his death. Barry was often heard saying, "We need to get Disciplers Bible Studies online -- thus, Disciplersonline.org.
Many lives have been touched and changed by God through Pearl’s life and through her legacy of Disciplers Bible Studies. May God continue to use Disciplers Bible Studies to His glory.

A few words about Pearl from Suzie
I met Pearl in 1984 when I went to San Antonio, Texas for Bible Study Fellowship leadership training. Three years later, when she became Director of Women’s Ministries at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in California, I was in the front row at the very first Disciplers class Pearl taught and I’ve been with Disciplers ever since.
There was so much to learn from Pearl. She was the most godly woman I have ever met. In addition to her wisdom and wonderful teaching, I came to know Pearl’s deep humility, her caring and kindness, and her unashamed and unrelenting commitment to God and His Word. Pearl knew God’s Word and had memorized large portions of it. She had memorized the entire Book of James. But more than that, she ordered her life by the Word, and that commitment was apparent to everyone who knew her.
Pearl was soft-spoken but her words were powerful and peppered with a subtle, yet profoundly fun, sense of humor. You could be deeply convicted by what she was saying, and at the same time smiling from the heart because of the way she said it. Pearl drew people to the Lord gently but always by the truth of His Word.
Pearl reached out and loved those around her just the way they were, but she also inspired each one of us to be a better person by putting God first in our lives. As you listen to Pearl speak, I know you will be inspired by her knowledge, her wisdom, her evident commitment to the Lord, and also by her humble manner and sweet sense of humor. When she says something funny, I think you will catch the hint of laughter bubbling up inside her. I think you will love her. Please listen, enjoy, and take to heart these messages from Pearl. They are shared with you in love, Suzie
